Hey !! I am answering them sometimes ! I’m still getting heaps of people following this blog so encouraging them to go to my new website. But think I might keep the questions going for a bit.
Food combining is important for digestion. Knowing foods that digest quickly and slowely, helps you know when to eat them. Fruit should be eaten alone because if you eat somethign heavy and then fruit it sits on the top of your stomach. But if you eat fruit with a few nuts or seeds it slows the digestion because of the protein content allowing a smaller increase in insulin and blood glucose which is a good thing. I always try to have fruit with some nuts ! That’s the main rule I stick to.
They are basically nutritionally the same. The grow together, so when you buy just white chia it has been picked from the harvest. Generally white is more popular and more aesthetically pleasing, but if anything I would say the black would have more nutrients. I’d be guessing though.
mm not specifically. They are so easy, and every time I make them I put something different in there for whatever I have at home. Always use dates and cacao powder and then add in anything else my favourites would be chia, almond meal, coconut oil, goji berries, protein powder ect ect.
If you haven’t make them before just combine like 10 soft dates (make them the fresh ones not the dried ones in the packets) with 3 tablespoons of cacao, a tablespoon of coconut oil. Mix them in a food processor and roll them into balls and then into some shredded coconut!! mmmm
Yeah at least you are doing 1 science, that’s plenty. The bridging courses don’t cost extra if you ever wanted to do that for chemistry. No I don’t know anyone from southern school at all ! Awesome location though. I think both schools are great. If you are thinking of moving to syndey, then to melbourne then maybe to the gold coast, endeavous is good because it’s so easy to transfer !!!
Noooooo it’s not an interview, you get in regardless of your ATAR score and it isn’t an interview they just talk to you about the college and discuss classes and payment plans ! Because it is a private college you basically are paying heaps to go, so anyone can.
Saying that in your 3rd year there is only like 10 people in your classes because so many people drop out.
Hey !!! There could be many reasons why this is happening. No it wouldn’t be the high fiber from fruit and vegetables, if you are adding your own fiber bran mixes to your porridge or anything, that could give you diarrhoea. Have you cut out gluten? it can have many symptoms and you may be intolerant. If non of these are the answer I would say work on your gut healing. Get some slippery elm from the supermarket and have it a few times a day. eat chia and aloe vera and have foods high in probiotics (DEFINITELY try saeurkraut) ALSO there is an amazing strain of probiotic called Saccharomyces boulardii and is amazing for people who have diarrheoa and I have success using it in clinics. I know biomedica and bioceuticals do a supplements, but they are practitioner only. Not sure where you could get your hands on it !
Just word !!! haha thank you though !
Hey ! That’s so so exciting, I’m glad that I could be even a little bit apart of your health journey. What state are you in? I go to Endeavour and they have campuses in Melb, Sydney, Goldcoast, Brisbane and possibly somewhere else? just check the website.
The course for the first year is all science, chem, bio, microbiology, anatomy, physiology and a lot of pathology ! So it helps to have a science background, I would reccomend doing the bridging science courses that the uni offers to help you if you haven’t done this subjects before.
The second year is still alot of pathology, nutritional sciences and dietary planning which is good. The 2nd year is great ! 3rd year is all clinics basically and some research subjects ! I’m going into my last semester and I will be doing 21 hours or clinic times and another subject on small buisness management. I really enjoy my course, bu it may not be for everyone, like I have said before it is expensive and you don’t really have a life outside of uni, there is so many subjects and hours, I did 7 subjects one semester, it was crazy.
Southern School in Fitzroy, Melbourne I have heard is pretty good as well so check them out ! I’m not sure how they structure their classes though !!! Let me know any specific questions I can help you with I feel i’m being super broad.
using raw cacao powder is totally different from cocoa powder. Raw cacao isn’t heated with processing and contains many nutrient, protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, iron, zinc, copper, calcium, magnesium and is exceptionally high in antioxidants. cocoa is processed with heat destroying most of the nutrients. Buy Cacao !!!
I think it would be incredibly difficult to get the nutrients you need for your childs health including your folate and B12, iron and your essential fatty acids.
Iron is found in high amounts in green leafy vegetables, but eating them raw means they contain oxalates which bind to minerals (such as iron) inhibiting their absorption.
You would have to be incredibly incredibly educated to conceive on a raw food diet. Supplementation would be a must in my books.
Typically, the female reproductive system flourishes on warming foods so including Cayenne pepper, chilli, garlic and ginger and lots of water and teas would be a good idea if you wanted to stay raw.
I had no idea of the power of organic food until I started living almost exclusively on organic produce. Besides organic food having no pesticide residues, the nutrients are more bio available and the phytonutrient content is much high so they have a higher antioxidants and also better mineral content due to the organic soils.
I have always eaten conventional produce growing up and it’s only been the last 8 months that I have eaten organic, and not just sometimes.. all the time. I have never been one to feel sick often, but eating oganic makes me feel so much more alive, I feel cleaner and happier, it’s kinda of hard to explain.
I love going to the markets and choosing my own vegetables out that have dirt all over them, bringing them home, cleaning them and preparing delicious healthy meals. I feel better eating organic and also love that I am also supporting small farmers apposed the massive corporations. Organic is health food stores is general expensive so finding a market that sells organic is a good idea. It is cheap because all the products are in season and easy to grow. You don’t have grapes shipped from America or apples shipped from wherever else !
I don’t eat organic if I go to someones house for tea, or not all the places I eat out at are organic, but most are.
I think if you are eating 90% organic you will notice the differences !
That’s okay, I understand you just want to know how I manage to help yourself. When I say ‘bulk’ I don’t mean you have to buy in bulk. At border just foods.. near Maccas in Albury they just have massive containers full of quinoa, flaxseeds, nuts, buckwheat, a million different flours, spice, everything ! It’s the only place I have found that sells brewers yeast and they have coconut oil, miso paste, tamari, dried mushrooms, EVERYTHING and it’s SO CHEAP omg, go there once and you’ll never look back. Ill be going tomorrow! So they have little plastic bags where you just use the scoop out of the containers and help yourself, take all your bags to the counter and they weight them all for you and you just pay per weight which is cool.
Well there is heaps of sites online where you can get health food products just google health food stores online and there will be millions, but you’d be paying the same amount online as you would at border just foods or olive health food store- near supre… so i would just shop there and all you need is some tamari and coconut oil, don’t bother with random crazy health food products, THEY are expensive and useless in my opinion, food is better !
